Freshman Engineering Fundamentals Division
Our freshman engineering students are a part of the Engineering Fundamentals Division (EFD) -- one of the nation’s most innovative approaches to freshman engineering education and located in our own College of Engineering.
In the EFD students work together in teams on project-oriented, hands on activities -- specifically,
several "design, build and test" projects.
These projects "provide realistic, mind-engaging problems that introduce students to the engineering design process and allow them to develop decision-making skills vital to practicing engineers."
As a freshman Biosystems Engineering student, you are automatically part of the Engineering Fundamentals Division in the College of Engineering!
