B.S. Biosystems Engineering
Environmental Engineering Minor, 2004-2005

The Biosystems Engineering Standard Sequence automatically meets many of the requirements for the Environmental Engineering Minor. The Minor can be achieved with only 6 additional credit hours by:

1) filling the Gen. Ed. Elec. (Engr. Practice in Global/Soc. Context) shown in the Fall of the Senior year with either PHIL346 Environmental Ethics (Fall and Spring), or GEOL202 Earth as an Ecosystem (Spring);

2) filling the Technical Elective shown in the Fall of the Senior year with CE486 Air and Waste Management (Spring);

3) taking either CE485/GEOL485 Hydrogeology (Fall) or ESS444 Environmental Soil Physics (Spring);

4) taking one of CHEM230 Inorganic Chemistry (Fall), CHEM310 Analytical Chemistry (Fall and Spring), or CHEM350 Organic Chemistry (Fall and Spring).

Talk to your advisor about whether this is the best option or you, and how to fit it into your schedule. Note that it will take a little shifting around of courses to make sure that you are scheduled to take the courses in the right semester. You can get more information on the Environmental Engineering Minor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering portion of the Undergraduate Catalog.
