CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes

October 21, 2004   

  • Meeting was called to order by President Carol White.
  • Announcement was made by Theressa Cooper about a dinner by MANNRS. The theme of the dinner will be “Diversity is Everyone’s Business.”  The purpose of the dinner to get everyone interested in making every person feel welcome on campus. There will be professional speakers and a panel discussion. It is a perfect opportunity to network. It is a free dinner. Each organization is encouraged to invite 2 people. It will be held November 9th from 6-8pm in the Ag Engineering building room 166. RSVP by November 2nd to Theressa.

  • Old Business
    • Congratulations to Kimberly Trolinger and Jessica Clemons for becoming the new UAC reps.
  • New Business
    • Voted to accept the By-Law revisions. Moved to accept by Adam Thompson and second by David Little.
    • Fall Festival was discussed by Amy Willis and Elise Strand. They are inviting the Knox Area Boys and Girls Clubs to participate in Festival related activities. The event will be on October 28th from 4-6pm in the UT Trial Gardens. There was a meeting after this meeting to discuss in further details.
    • Carol encouraged everyone to make sure that there club is registered as an Official Student Organization. In the Spring more main campus classes and meeting will be held on the Ag Campus. This could cause conflicts through meeting times and places. We might have to reserve rooms through the Dean of Students and if your club is not registered and updated you will not be able to reserve a room.
  • Other Business
    • Sigma Alpha Penny Wars
    • Dairy Club will host a party Oct. 22nd
    • Poultry Club meal October 27th 11-1:30 $4
