September 20, 2001 The CASNR Student Council held its monthly meeting on September 20. Lisa White reported information she had received from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Knoxville about the annual CASNR philanthropy. It was decided that the philanthropy would once again be a Christmas Party to be held on December 4 from 4-6 pm. Each club needs to pick a Christmas Party Representative by October 9. Representatives should notify Glenn LaFollette of their club’s representative. His e-mail address is glafolle@utk.edu. Clubs also need to pick Open House Representatives by this date, and Monette Vessell should be notified of each club’s representative. Her e-mail address is kvessell@utk.edu. Lisa White also notified members of possible service opportunities for their clubs, including Dance Marathon and collecting books for Mortarboard. These books need to be either reference books or children’s books. Contact Lisa White at lwhite9@utk.edu for any questions about these projects. Representatives were given the list of CASNR student organizations that is given each year to incoming freshmen. Dr. Albrecht requested that each representative review their club’s information and make any necessary corrections, including updated URL’s and e-mail addresses. Dates to Remember October 8 – Student of the Month Nominees due October 9 – Deadline to select Open House and Christmas Party Representatives October 10 – CASNR Report articles due October 18 – Next student council meeting, 5:30 October 27 – Ag Day November 10 – Varsity Visit
