CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes
October 20, 2005 

• A sign up sheet was sent around to get everyone’s name and e-mail

 Old Business:

• The following positions need to be appointed:

-          Awards Chair – covers banquet and student of the semester

-          CASNR Undergraduate Advisory Council

-          2 Community Service/Co. Chairs

-          CASNR Newsletter Editor

-          Open House Co-chair

• It was asked that these positions be taken to each club to see if they could be filled.  Applications will be available on the website.
• Student of the Month will be changed to Student of the Semester for the current fall semester - will be a trial run to see how it works out.

 New Business:

• Suggestions for keeping Attendance up were made.  These include: sending out an agenda before meeting, and food
• Fall Service Project:

-          It was decided that a blood drive be done.

-          It will be a competition between departments

-          The highest % will win, a prize will given to the winner 

• MANRRS is hosting a regional workshop this weekend
• Pre-Vet is hosting a Dog Wash/Bake sale this weekend during the dog walk, 9-3.
• Some requests to better the Ag. Campus were made:

-          Someone should go around the Ag. Campus to make sure all the signs are visible to prevent towing of visitors.

-          The service vehicles parked in the parking lots are still a problem

-          Suggested having smoke-free entrances

-          Doing something to promote trial gardens more.

 Updates:

• The search for the new VP of the Institute of Agricultural is underway.

-          There are 3 “airport interviews” going on, they plan on 2 more.

-          Students will be invited to the seminar to hear and interview candidates.

-          Registrar’s office is working on a new DARS system that student’s will be able to access from the Internet.

Next month’s meeting will be held on November 17, 2005 / Morgan Hall Rm. 226 @ 5:30
