CASNR Student Council Meeting Minutes
October 19, 2000
The Student Council met in a regular business meeting in 226MH at 5:00 pm, and
the following business was conducted. Jennifer Akers from the Peace Corps was a
guest speaker who informed the council about opportunities in agriculture with the
Peace Corps. Nick West announced the deadline for CASNR Report articles is
November 9. Applications for student of the month are due November 6 by noon. It
was announced that Clay Davis resigned from his position as Public Relations
Coordinator. Any story you would like to see covered by the beacon can be brought to
the attention of Suzanne Womac. Please e-mail your club's Open House reps to
Charlie and Monette by November 3. Applications are being taken for open council
positions: Public Relations Coordinator, and Open House Co-chair. They are
available in the dean's office and will be due November 8. The Executive Council will
meet November 9 at 5:00 pm in the office of the Dean to review the applications.
Council members were reminded that attendance of meetings is required.
Announcement was made that the next Christmas Party meeting will be held November
9. Thank you cards were passed around for the men who assisted in creating our web
page. Due to low attendance, the club picture was postponed until next meeting.
Members urged to wear their shirts. Campus issues that were discussed included: The
concrete barrier around the Indian mound, inadequate condition of chairs in 212
Brehm, Computers in the Ag/Vet library, and copy codes for organizations. The
meeting was adjourned.
