CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes
Ootober 19, 2006

Meeting called to order at approximately 5:45 p.m. by Dr. Albrecht.

Introductions made by going around the room – members gave their names and which organization or department they are representing.  A sign-up sheet was passed around.

Officer elections held.  Officers were elected as follows:

President – Michael Petty

Vice President – Marcus Ramsey

Secretary – Wendy Jones

Open House Chair – Holly Lyons

New Business:

      November Elections

Voting for Knox district will be available in the UC Nov. 7th

                  Early voting within county area available at the UC from Oct 31- Nov 2

      SGA Campus Safety Walk

                  November 7th, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

                  At this point the Ag campus is not included on the Safety Walk

                  Suggested that Colleen Cruze (SGA Rep) bring up issue to SGA

      CASNR Dean Search

                  Search committee has been meeting with a search firm

     New Faculty Members

                  Dr. Amy Johnson – BESS – specializing in soil fertility

                  Dr. Dayton Lambert – Agricultural Economics

      Gamma Sigma Delta

                  Met 10/19 to determine nominations for new members

                  Notifications will be mailed out soon

      Campus wide Cleanup Day

                  Cleanup will take place Sunday, November 5th

                  Meet on the UC Plaza at 1:00 p.m.

     Campus Master Plan   

                  Consultant to meet with athletic department 10/20

Recommendations for master plan to improve appearance of campus – includes uniformity of benches, trash receptacles, etc.

Superintendent of Care of Grounds Ted Murphy may be utilizing software to inventory plant material and other landscape items soon

Representative and Campus Beautification Committee member Nathan Oliver mentioned efforts to get bulbs donated to improve aesthetics

Dr. Albrecht serves on faculty Campus Beautification Committee which communicates with Campus Master Plan committee – contact her if you notice anything that could be changed to improve the appearance of the campus

Meeting adjourned at approximately 6:15 p.m.  Next meeting to be held in PBB 160 on November 16th, 2006 at 5:30 p.m.
