CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes
January 19, 2006

President Jessica Huffman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Mandi Pittenger took Roll Call

Old Business:

Blood drive

Again, it was a SUCCESS!!! Thank you to everyone that participated. 

·        No prizes will be awarded this year; however, the blood drive will be promoted more and prizes will be given next year.

New Business

Feb 9^th – Deadline for student of the month nominations

·        These can be returned to the Dean’s office in Morgan Hall

·        There can be one representative from each club for the fall semester

Open House will be a chance for the community to see all of the hard work that CASNR has done.

·        Dates: April 7^th & 8^th

·        Where: Brehm Arena and Hollingsworth Auditorium

·        Chairs: Angelike Angeloponlas and Karla Walden

·        There will be a theme, it is still undecided.  If there any suggestions, please tell your club representative.

·        Dr. Albrecht will create a form to send to each club advisor.  It will be a questionnaire to bring to the first open house meeting

CASNR Awards Nominations

·        The forms are available on the CASNR webpage

·        Nominations are for Fr, Soph, Jr, & Sr. outstanding students

·        Feb. 17^th – The forms are due in the deans office

·        Dean Albrecht will re-send an e-mail out to the club advisors regarding the nominations

·        Ashley Pedigo will be the new Awards chair

Problems/Concerns:

·        Smoke-free entrances have been put up

Announcements:

·        Scholarship applications are due Feb. 1^st

• A new Vice President for CASNR has been announced.
• There is still a negotiation for BESS Department Head

 Next Student Council Meeting will Feb. 16^th at 5:30
