The CASNR Student Council held its monthly meeting on October 18, 2001.  President Lisa White presided. 

In old business, Lisa White reported on the progress made by the Christmas Party committee at their last meeting.  This year’s party will have a similar format to last year’s with four stations:  crafts, games, refreshments, and a petting zoo.  Clubs are encouraged to be involved in this activity.  The next committee meeting will be on November 1.  If there are any ideas or questions, they can be directed to Lisa White, lwhite9@utk.edu, or Glenn LaFollette, glafolle@utk.edu. 

In new business, Susan Conlon submitted the idea of the college naming a faculty of the month along with the student of the month.  The faculty of the month would be announced in the CASNR Report, similar to the student of the month.  The selection of a faculty of the month will begin in January, and guidelines for the nominations will be posted on the student council website.

Awards chair Ella Brown expressed concern over the low turnout of nominees for student of the month.  Representatives were asked to encourage their club’s nominee to submit their information as soon as they can, as to not miss the deadlines.

CASNR Report editor TJ Wilson encouraged council members to submit articles to the monthly report.

Club representatives need to submit their Open House representatives to monette vessel at kvessell@utk.edu as soon as possible.

The next student council meeting will be held on November 15 in Morgan Hall, room 212B.  Council members are reminded to wear their council t-shirts as a picture will be taken for the council website.
