CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes

March 18, 2004 

President Amy Willis called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m. in Morgan Hall, room 226.

Open House - Amy Willis

Next Thursday the 25th there will be a meeting for Open House in Brehm 103 at 6:00 . Please encourage club representatives or anybody who wants to help to come.

Needs:

  • People to serve on trash patrol
  • 2 reps from each club to direct traffic
  • Notify Amy Willis if your club plans on having a demonstration during the day

If you are going to have non-UT animals they must have their health papers.  All booths must be put up and clean before you leave.

General Announcements

 Dr. Albrecht

  • Entrance is supposed to be done by June. Student parking will be reduced by 10 spaces.
  • Handicap accessibility in breeze-way between Ellington and Hollingsworth has been completed.  It was noted that buttons were only on the outside and not on the inside.  Dr. Albrecht said she will check on getting that fixed.
  • Budget hearing with Crabtree: possibility that Brehm move up on the list due to the interest in holding graduations in Brehm auditorium.
  • Graduation - May 8th - 90 minutes long.  Dr. Albrecht proposed having a faculty and student speaker.   She suggested the Outstanding Advisor Award recipient be the faculty speaker and the top grad be the student speaker.  Jane Howell and Dr. Hart suggested choosing from the top grad and the recipients of the Outstanding Senior Award.  There will be a luncheon after graduation.  $15/guest and the grad is free.

SGA - Adam Thompson

The resolution for making the stop light at the bottom of the bridge into a blinking four -way stop was passed. He voiced his concern over the traffic committee just waiting till there is an accident to take action.  Dr. Hart commented that he brings it up at each traffic meeting and will look into it some more.

Council Position Applications

Applications are on the web for offices and appointed positions for next year’s Student Council.  Due April 26th.

April 6th - Scholarship Banquet in Hollingsworth Auditorium must RSVP by March 26th

April 15th - Next meeting

April 16th -17th - Open House

April 29th - Next meeting and elections

Adam Thompson moved to adjourn.  It was seconded and passed.  Meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p.m.
