CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes President Jessica Huffman called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Roll Call was taken by Mandi Pittenger Old Business Blood driveIt was a SUCCESS!!! Thank you to everyone that participated. The donations increased from around 80 to 113 units. Some ideas were brought up to help make the blood drive an even more success: - Let students more aware of other blood donations going on - Allowing the blood drive to be more than one day on the Ag. campus. New Business Mables:Mike Keel, director of services, introduced Mary Leslie Patterson and Nina Summers from Aramark. They spoke about enhancing the meals at Mables and to find out what the student population wanted. The following issues were made: - Most of the students eat on the strip and not on campus - The main problems being the location and that most students have no knowledge of it. - Everyone wanted the food to stay same - There was an idea about moving in to Brehm and maybe staying open for dinner - It needs to better advertised Problems/Concerns: There have been problems seeing the road due to shrubs and the bus between River drive and Joe Johnson drive. Announcements VP search – they are done with the airport interviews and the paperwork is in progress for interviews. They hope to be scheduled in early Dec., for a public session Wildlife and Fisheries – has put together a committee and will begin searching by spring Scholarship applications are due February 1st. Remember everyone has to reapply for the Lottery scholarship and FAFSA. Also, there are scholarships for everyone, just apply Forestry will be selling Christmas trees Food Science is having their annual cheese sale right now Respectfully submitted: Mandi Pittenger, Secretary Next month’s meeting will be held on January 19, 2006 / Location to Be Announced @ 5:30 p.m.
