CASNR Student Advisory Council Meeting Minutes
February 15, 2007

Meeting called to order at 5:33 p.m. by President Michael Petty.

Membership attendance was taken by representatives signing a roll sheet.

Farm Credit Services

Ashley Gaslin, a representative from Farm Credit Services, presented on internship opportunities after the meeting. She will be returning to campus on March 23^rd to conduct interviews- anyone interested should be registered with career services.

Awards Committee

Protocol for the 2007 CASNR Awards committee has been written up. One representative from each major is needed for the committee – especially upperclassmen at this point. Majors not yet represented are ag science, plant science, ESS, WFS, forestry, and biosystems engineering..

Dean Search

The dean search is still going on. Information can be found on the Dean Search website at http://www.casnr.utk.edu/deansearch/ . Interviews were held the 15^th, 16^th, 20^th, 21^st, 22^nd, 23^rd, and will also be held the 1^st and 2^nd of March. Information for attending is on the website.

CASNR Ambassadors

The application deadline to be a CASNR Ambassador is March the 9^th- applications are available online at the CASNR website.

Ag Express

There is a possible extension of the ag express shuttle hours underway.  The shuttle would begin running one hour earlier and continue running one hour later than current times.

The shuttle stops at the G10 parking garage, a good place for students to park as spaces on the ag campus itself are limited.

CASNR Awards Banquet

The college wide awards banquet is scheduled for April 3^rd at 5:30 p.m.. Invitations will be sent out around spring break.

E-Newsletter

A weekly online newsletter similar to student@utk has been suggested to announce club meeting times and other relevant information. At current time announcements can be sent to casnr@utk.edu where they are screened and forwarded by Theresa Cooper.
