|Description ||Williamson County Government is seeking a qualified individual for the position of Soil
Scientist Technician. Reporting to the Director of Sewage Disposal Management, this position
will entail various aspects related to on-site wastewater systems to ensure compliance with
the regulations of Williamson County. Additional duties will be assigned at the discretion of the
Successful applicants shall possess a Bachelorís Degree from an accredited college or
university in Soil Science, Agronomy, and/or Agriculture with emphasis in plant and soils
science or agronomy; or possess a Bachelorís Degree from an accredited college or university
with significant course work in biological, physical, and earth sciences, as well as an additional
15 semester in soil science courses (e.g. Introduction to Soil Science, Soil Morphology, Soil
Chemistry, Soil Physics, Soil Hydrology, and Soil Genesis & Classification, etc.).
Applicants must also possess the ability to perform significant physical labor including, but not
limited to, the operation of a hand auger and probe, walking over rough and wooded terrain
while carrying necessary equipment, and all other physical labor outlined in the job description
for this position (copy available upon request).
A valid Tennessee Driverís license is required.
Starting salary for those fully meeting the minimum requirements is $20.80/hour DOE.
