2014 State 4-H Land Judging Results

Team (A) from Grainger County took top honors at the State 4-H Land Judging Contest held October 14 at the Middle Tennessee Research and Education Center. Members of the winning team included Hunter Boggs, Garrett Chandler, Tristian Stalsworth and Luke Walker.

Second place team honors went to the Grainger County (C) team. Rounding out the top five teams were Wilson County in third place, Grainger County (B) in fourth place and Hawkins County in fifth place. This means that Grainger County (A) and Grainger County (C) teams will represent Tennessee at the National Land Judging contest to be held in Oklahoma City next spring.

A total of twelve teams comprised of 47 individual youth participated in the event which saw William Beadle of Wilson County named as the high individual. The top five high individuals included Beadle; Tristian Stalsworth, Grainger County (A); Trevor Lakins, Grainger County (C); Dylan West, Hawkins County and P.K. Lowe, Grainger County (B).

Assisting in this year's event from Biosystems Engineering and Soil Science were Hugh Savoy and Don Tyler.

Thanks to all who participated, hosted or otherwise assisted in the event this year. Also, best wishes to our Grainger County teams as they represent Tennessee at the next level of competition.
