Abdullah Cihan was awarded a grant to attend the 2008 Kirkham Conference at UC Davis. Attendance at the conference is by invitation only, and Abdullah is 1 of only 11 students invited to attend.
The Kirkham Conference is held every four years and honors the late Don Kirkham, a renowned soil physicist. The 2008 conference is sponsored by the Soil Science Society of America and the UC Davis Department of Land, Air and Water Resources.
Abdullah is a Biosystems Engineering Ph.D. candidate, and he will present results from his research of theoretical and experimental methods to quantify unsaturated flow in porous media.
