Eligibility: This competition is limited to students currently enrolled in EF151 or EF157. Students will compete in teams of two. The contest is limited to the first 60 teams to pre-register by email. Send an email to doneill1@utk.edu to register.
Overview: Faculty of the Biosystems Engineering program want to see the engineering talents of EF students in action. To do this, we’re holding the 3rd Annual Freshman Engineering Design Competition on September 28th. The task is to design and build the “best” wood structure capable of protecting a glass ball from a crushing load.
Prizes:
• 1st place team: two Apple iPod nanos
• 2nd place team: two personal DVD players
• 3rd place team: two 4-GB USB pen drives
• Most Creative Design: two 1-GB MP3 players
• PLUS - a random drawing for all non-placing participants for one Apple iPod nano Note: you must be present during awards presentation to win.
