 | Knoxville, TN -- Alisha Spears, a senior in Environmental and Soil Sciences, is participating in a summer internship with The Washington Center in Washington, DC. The Washington Center, founded in 1975, is an independent nonprofit organization that provides internship programs and academic seminars to college students from across the country and around the world.
Alisha's group was invited to attend a briefing by Secretary of the Interior Gale Norton reviewing the state of our national parks. Alisha took a few moments to introduce herself and mention that she was from Knoxville. She also spoke briefly with the Secretary about the Great Smoky Mountains. |
