Engineers Day, 2003

At Engineers Day, 2003, BEES students won second place in both the Class I exhibits ("Underwater Video Mapping System"), and the Class II exhibits ("Instrumentation in Agriculture").

Engineers Day has been a UT tradition, since a work bee was held to speed the construction of Estabrook Road in 1912. Classes were dismissed that first Engineers Day so students could help improve the school. Although it is not clear from available records whether Engineers Day has been observed continuously since 1912, the spirit of the event remains intact: university students and faculty sharing their time for the benefit of future engineers. Each year, hundrends of high school sdtudents enjoy discussions, project demonstartions, exhibits, and fun at Engineers Day.

Engineers Day 2004 will take place on October 21, 2004, on the UT engineering campus.
