Soil Test Work Group Meets in Puerto Rico

Soil scientist Hugh Savoy (middle row, fourth from right) is a member of the Southern Extension and Research Activities Information Exchange Group (SERA-IEG-6). A cooperative effort among the Southern states and Puerto Rico, the group works to increase the awareness, understanding, and interpretation of soil, plant, byproduct, and water analyses and their proper application to land and resource management in the Southern USA through unbiased, scientifically sound information.

This year's annual meeting was hosted by Puerto Rico. Participants were given a unique opportunity to observe and learn first hand about tropical agricultural systems such as mango, banana, citrus and coffee.
