Students Win in Undergrad Research Expo

by Raj Raman / Joel Lown
In the annual Exposition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement, held April 4 and 5 at the UC Ballroom, our two BEES teams won two of the four awards in the Engineering division. Each winning team received a $200 cash award.

The teams were (left to right): Miles (Jr.) Ledbetter on the 1/4-Scale Tractor Team, and Wesley Wright, Travis Stills, and Cullen (Trey) Cavin on the Permeameter Team. The Division Chair, Dr. Joe Iannelli, commented on the enthusiasm and excellent visuals used by both teams.

The two BEES teams were among 11 teams originating from the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. The other nine teams competed in the CASNR Division, but the Biosystems Engineering students competed in the Engineering Division (as they always have), where a field of 16 posters was entered.

Thanks to the winners for maintaining a strong tradition of excellence in this event. Also, special thanks to the team mentors, Drs. Burns, Hart, Womac, and Yoder.
